Good Things

I am taking a page from my cousin Angie and listing some of the good things I am enjoying these days. please share with me some of yours!!

I love this food blog The Picky Palate.
It is full of practical food ideas and most of it is stuff I will actually make. The pictures get my tummy grumbling.

Yes this book is by THAT Robert Kirby. You know the somewhat irreverant Salt Lake Tribune columnist. The book is set in early pioneer times and is every bit as irreverant as his column, sometimes more so, but I love it. It tops my "top ten greatest reads" list. Okay I actually don't have one of those lists but if I did, I would start here.

I bought me some goggles and a swim cap today and I am planning on donning the dreaded swimsuit to get some excersise. I must be getten old because my knees swell up if I try to run everyday, so I thought swimming would be less stressful for them. Mike and I are trying to eat healthier and excersise daily, although sometimes I think, "Why would I want to live 'til I am so old I have to have my diaper changed?" I think I will still indulge in some chocolately treats to ensure I don't live too long.

I love a good package of crayons. Me and the kids have been coloring up a storm, I just love doing that with them. I think this crayon art is totally fun!!

That is such a fun post! I love it. My knees swell up when I run, too. Maybe I should stop using that as an excuse NOT to use my treadmill :) Maybe Trevor WAS right. Just kidding. I use it all the time just to spite him.

Maggie, you are so cute! Swimming is my favorite exercise, and you are very smart to get a swim cap. They might look dorky, but they save your hair. Also, Infusium 28 (leave-in conditioner) in your hair before and after swimming will help with that. And...if your skin gets dry putting a little baby oil on before swimming helps a lot (just don't tell the people who run the pool).

I love the Picky Palate blog. Did you see those truffles she just posted. They looked heavenly! I still need to read Dark Angel. I remember that you told me about it a long time ago. Good luck with the swimming! I've never been very good at it. I guess I'll have to stick to running (until my knees swell up too). I hope you enjoy making your bread bowls tomorrow!

So you recommend this book? I am looking for another great read. Can I get it at any bookstore?
You are in such great shape and your knees are swelling, what, when, why and how did this happen? ... Silly huh?

Sumar-
You can buy the book used online @ Amazon.com also I think you can get it in libraries in Utah. As for the knees..... I'm just an old woman.

I don't know if I ever told you that I loved "Dark Angel"! I read it to Jeff on our big move from Louisville to Moab. I was a blubbering mess by the end. It's a great read. :) As for the swimming...you go! Swimming requires so much endurance and is a great work out...good thinking on the cap and goggles. Along with living a long life you won't have to wear a wig and still be able to read a great book! :)

Good times mags. I think your mom recommended Dark Angel to me?!? Would that be right? Swimming is fun if you know how to swim. I just dog paddle and plug my nose.

Mags,
Do you know a Langford from Kentucky?

Bags! And there you are! I'm so glad you blog. Your (or Mike's) pictures are gorgeous, and it almost makes me think Alaska would be a fantastic adventure. However, I'm freezing--FREEZING--here in Ohio, so I don't know if that's really the right place for me.
