i should be folding laundry

Well the family has come and gone again.

"let me explain. no there is to much let me sum up."

it was a great weekend full of food, hiking, baptizing, confirming, laughing, coughing, stuffy noses, and my yearly allotment of tears. pictures are better than words. here ya go.

ps. can anyone tell me what movie that quote is from? i think the first one to tell me should get a prize.

my 81 year old grandmother, Dawn, hiked four miles with us and beat me to the car. ya, she's spry like that.
The reward: the Eagle River.

Mike and his Dad, Vaughn

Our family after the baptism. my mascara mysteriously melted.....

Quinton and his Dad

Haley and Grandma, she gave an excellent talk at the baptism! Thanks marianne!

Quinton and Avery at the beginning of the hike, looking for salmon.

This old cottonwood tree along the iditarod trail is called the "grandfather tree"
this picture should be hanging on the wall.

Grandma Cassie and Austin bringing up the rear.

One of many glaciers in Alaska. This one is huge.

Jace always has the best view. Grandpa Scott.

Aahhh! how adorable is that. if mike squeezes me really close i look smaller.

so sad this picture didn't turn out to well. My grandma and grandpa served a mission to the Anchorage Alaska mission 18 years ago. This was her first return trip. isn't she so cute?

Good thing that was only a summary, can you imagine how long this post would have been had i explained everything? THanks to all our guests for coming! Who would've thought 9 adults and 7 kids could all get along for three days together?

For me, it was bliss.

This Princess Bride, of course! I love that movie! Inigo Montoya said it! I had such a good time at your house. Thanks again for having me! P.S. I am all for Target...

Mags, I feel so ashamed. I didn't even recognize that quote from The Princess Bride. I hope you can forgive me, it's inexcusable.

First, congrats to Quinton on his baptism. I can't believe he is 8 now. I remember the Easter weekend that I first met you and he was tiny (okay, cute and cubbie, and not very old). Your pictures are great! Alaska is so pretty. Maybe someday we'll pay you a visit...

april wins! i'll be sending you a prize.

haven-what the crap, get a blog so i can comment on it. i am ticked.

IS it even a question? Inigo Montoya (SP?) Anyday of the week you could hear a quote from that show in my house!

I totally have Princess Bride memorized. Good grief, you post this 2 hours ago and already have 5 (now 6) comments. Nobody even stood a chance. Good job aprilisawesome, you should definitely let her send you a prize--she sends good ones :)

I can't believe Quinton is 8. And Avery and Austin look so old. How do you make kids with so much hair (Jace)? Ashley doesn't have that much hair and is a year older than him.

Anyway, your visit looks like fun. I don't think you could get any smaller (you do look pretty small in that picture) and we STILL miss you. Oh, by the way--we're doing a resume and references, etc. Can we use Mike and what is your address and phone number? kimstrupp@gmail.com

Maybe I'll be able to convince family to come for Jack's baptism this coming summer. I was so honored to be at Quinton's baptism. It really truly touched me. It's helped me to reflect quite a bit. I couldn't remember what I said to him but I hope it was good. My eyes were damp though my masacra was safe. :) You have a wonderful family. Can't wait to see Avery tomorrow morning. As you can see I need to get to bed so I'll be ready. :)

oooh, I'll take you guys and that orange wrapping paper right along with me whenever and wherever we move, deal? What a fun friend you are, and happy happy birthday! Just moseyin' around way way past my bedtime and thought I'd say howdy. Jeff and I have previously LOVED the fashionista show- too late, can't remember full sentences- yeah so have a great birthday lady. My present to you is a big mega post- come and enjoy! And I signed up with the Google Reader on my homepage where they send me notifications if people have something new posted but then I get to be selfish and scan through it all but never reply and never show evidence I visited. So, just wanted to let you know I am a Maggie groopie, um, groupie, group-y (how the crap do you spell that) and it's all fun. HAPPY HAPPY DAY!

I think that Quinton will always be frozen in time as a 5 year old for me, so it's hard for me to believe that he is 8. Not only is he getting older, but I guess that means we are too. Dang-it, I hate that. I love the picture of Mike and Quinton in their white baptismal clothing and the picture of Vaughn and Austin is priceless. Mags, you are beautiful and so is your family! How lucky we can call you friends. :)

PS Happy Birthday!

Hooray for Quinton. Congratulations! It looks like you had so much fun with family, I am envious that you are all together in such a beautiful place. There are some GREAT pictures there, and I love the one of you and Mike especially. I may have to print it out and frame it.

So I am a little behind because of the journey to the north country for conference but..... Happy Birthday. You will have to check my blog. It is nothing like Tris' blog. I should have just said Dedo to hers and it would have been perfect. I hope you know I love you. When I read hers seriously Bawling and Lilly was looking at me a little strangly. I need my sisters. I love you!

p.s. when Scott saw the picture of you and Mike he said you looked young. Then we realized it was taken just last week and he was impressed. He thought it was taken when you just were married. YOu Look Fabulous sis!

Beautiful pictures Maggie! Our boy just got baptized too. I have almost exactly like the one of your husband and son in their white clothes with a picture of Christ in the background!

Wow I can't believe you have an 8 year old! ;) Quinton will always remain the little 3 year old in my mind hanging out in Indiana-or was he 2? Anyway, looks like lots of fun times and you look great and have such a beautiful family. Sure wish we could come visit!
